The 7th annual Lavender Festival is scheduled for Saturday, June 11, 2011. The event hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The first 100 visitors will receive a free bottle of Lavender Hydrosol. There will be hourly drawings for free prizes. Prof. Jag Sodhi will be conducting free hourly tours of the lavender gardens to share his experience and knowledge of growing lavender in southwest Oklahoma.

 

This year’s festival will feature about 20 vendors; local Oklahoma vineyards, candles makers, peanut farms, woodcrafts, and other local vendors.

 

Oklahoma Agritourism Dept. has invited a professional photographer to take pictures. OKC Channel - 4 TV personalities will be also participating in the Festival, autographing, and giving away gifts. Discover Oklahoma TV Channel 9  also covered us on 23 April, 2011.

 

As always, the Lavender Valley Acres shop will have live lavender plants, lavender essential oil, culinary lavender buds, lavender lotion, lavender candles, and other lavender products for sale. The shop also sells imported clothing, sterling silver jewelry w/gems, and brass gifts from India.

DISCOUNT: 15% Military Personnel with ID.

 

The festival will house live entertainment all day. It will feature members of the GRISSELHEADS band (Apache). Other features will be two belly dancing troops – Desert Moon Dance Troupe (Lawton), and A Mirage Dance Company (OKC).

 

Break fast and lunch will include hamburgers, hot dogs, lavender drinks, lavender cookies, and desserts, India specialty food and lavender chicken will be also available.

 

There will be wine tasting from Oklahoma wineries.

 

We grow 10 different varieties of lavender in our garden successfully. These plants are on sale – 4” ($ 3.50), 6” ($ 7.00), and 1g ($ 12.00 Partial Bloom) each.

 

Where: Out in the deep country, 85 miles South West of Oklahoma City, 19 miles South of Anadarko, 7 miles South of Ft. Cobb, and about 28 miles North of Lawton/ Fort Sill.

 

Direction from Apache: From the T-stop at North end of Town (HWY 19, 62, & 281), turn left (West) 4 ½ miles on HWY 19; turn right (North) on tar road (CS 2550) and go 5 miles; turn left (West) on gravel road (CR 1410) and go 3/4 miles. Please follow our signs. (GPS   X:-98.4588   Y: 34.9714)

 

 

  • Admission $ 5.00 per person ($ 4.00 for military personnel with ID, and

       Senior Citizens / 65+).

  • Children under 12 admitted free and free balloons.
  • Free parking is available.
  • Also special facility for handicap visitors is available.
