Why Lavender?

Lavender is an aromatic shrub used in fragrance, specialty foods, and holistic medicine practices. Lavender has many benefits. For centuries, Lavender has been used as a tonic, antiseptic, sedative, and digestive aid. In addition to it being a hearty plant that requires little water and little maintenance it also offers some really great benefits to the body and mind. Lavender treats sore muscles, headaches, skin problems, fatigue, depression, mestrual cramps and much more. Lavender oil benefits the mood and has been used for centuries to treat mood disorders such as depression, PTSD and anxiety.

In a study conducted by the International Journal of Psychiatry in Clinical Practice, it was recorded that 80 milligram capsules of lavender essential oil can help reduce the effects of anxiety and depression. It is always important to consult your physician prior to using essential oils of any kind as high levels may cause adverse reactions. Please always test the oil in a small are of skin before using and do not use on sensitive skin areas (under eyes, lips, etc.).
